Dataset shows seafloor areas mapped during missions of the NOAA ship Okeanos Explorer from 2008 to the present
time. These expeditions were sponsored by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Office
of Ocean Exploration and Research.

Description:
Bathymetric products were developed during and after the Okeanos Explorer cruises. The extents of
these mapped areas were usually derived by data export from software used by the bathymetric mapping
team or by analysis of the bathymetry products using ESRI's ArcGIS software. The format was usually
a shapefile. If a different format was received, the file was converted to a shapefile. After
appropriate fields were added and populated, or removed, the shapefile was uploaded to an ArcSDE
database.
