The Navy is conducting weapons testing in the vicinity of the first ROV dive site and has closed off a large area for the next few days. We will head directly to the second planned ROV dive site for the cruise (East Necker Seamount), and have to head far enough out of the way to get there that we will only have a few hours to spare before Sunday's ROV dive (starting about 8am HST). We'll spend those few hours filling gaps in nearby mapping coverage. 08/01/2015,15:33:19,kelleyelliott,The ship is slated to leave the dock at 0900 this morning to start Leg 2 of this Expedition. Chris Kelley will send around the draft ROV dive plan for Leg 2 later today, along with info on joining the first science planning teleconference to review and refine the plan. 08/01/2015,15:37:32,kelleyelliott,Note that draft ROV Dive site maps, XYZ files, and Fledermaus scenes are available on the FTP Site and accessible from: ftp://noaasrs1.gso.uri.edu/OkeanosCruises/EX1504L2/UPLOAD/Draft_ROV_DivePlans 08/01/2015,15:38:44,kelleyelliott,You will need your Collaboration Tools account username and password to access the site.
